Step 1: Choose the Right Time of Day

Avoid cleaning windows in direct sunlight.
When the sun hits the glass, your cleaning solution dries too quickly — and that’s what causes streaks.

Step 2: Keep Your Supplies Simple

- Bucket of warm water
- A small drop of dish soap
- Microfiber cloth or soft scrubber
- Quality squeegee
- Dry microfiber towel

Step 3: Wash First — Don’t Just Spray and Wipe
Most people spray cleaner directly on the glass and start wiping.
That works for light dust.
But if there’s buildup, pollen, or grime, you need to wash the whole pane first.
Dip your cloth or scrubber into the soapy water and fully wet the window.
Gently scrub from top to bottom.
Pay attention to the edges — that’s where dirt collects.
Step 4: Use the Squeegee the Right Way

Start at the top corner.
Pull the squeegee down in one smooth motion.
After every pass, wipe the blade clean with your towel.
That step matters.
If you don’t wipe the blade, you’re just dragging dirty water across clean glass.
Overlap each pass slightly as you move across the window.
Slow. Steady. Controlled.
Step 5: Don’t Forget the Details
Clean glass won’t shine if the tracks and frames are still dirty.
- Vacuum loose debris from tracks
- Wipe them down with a damp cloth
- Use a small brush for buildup in corners
